7 wonder foods that fight cancer

Curry  ,  Walnuts,  Green tea,  Orange peel {zest}, Yogurt, Fish, {Salmon, Mackeral and Herring},  Cranberries.  All of these foods have been tested by the leading  cancer research centers,

For the Curry, use to sprinkle on foods either before or after you cook  meats, soups, veggies, salads.

English Walnuts, used in salads  or just as a snack, my grnadmother made a fantastic walnut cake.

Green tea   3 to 4  cups per day,  Get a good brand, not oolong, celestial seasonings has a good one.

Orange zest.  use the peels of the orange, scrape it and use in drinks, salads, on your yogurt,  and of course drink the fresh squeezed juice.

Yogurt.   they say do not pour out the {water} that collects on top, use that also, plain or flavored is good.

Fish   3 to 4 times a week, Salmon, Mackeral, and Herring   broilded is best. Only Herring I ever saw was pickled,

Cranberries,  dried in a trail mix, salads, pies,  Sun Kist puts out a small pkg  of snack  ones that are really good.

There are alot of essential oils and vitamines in these foods.  All have shown promise in the labs for killing cancer cells and preventing tumor growth.

I am not saying these foods are a cure, but from researching them, I find the same foods listed  in many places for cancer victims.  Also they do mention they are a good preventive, and are used in many countries as staple foods.

Most are easy to find  at the store and are not costly.  let me know  if you try any of them.  Marty

Not sure where you heard Yoplait Yogurt is directly related to breast cancer but here Yoplait is very much involved in funding to the Breast Cancer Associate. I copied some of the info directly from their site and the BCA site. Thought you might find this interesting...

We've always thought of Yoplait® as an important piece of a happier, healthier life. For 18 years, we've played a part in women's health and well-being, promoting heart health, osteoporosis prevention and general fitness. But because breast cancer is a threat to the health and happiness of all women, our contribution - and your help - are especially critical.

To date, Yoplait, its parent company General Mills and its Foundation have donated more than $18 million to the breast cancer cause over the past 9 years. Here's what we're doing:

This is the tenth Save Lids to Save Lives program to date. With the lids you collect, we support Susan G. Komen for the Cure and its efforts to eradicate breast cancer, and move closer to our donation goal of $1.5 million.

But it's not just about what the money can do for research and treatment. It's about an opportunity for all of us to work together toward our common goal. Join Yoplait in the fight
Learn About Susan G. Komen for the Cure

2008 marks the fourth year of our Yoplait Champions program with which we recognize the remarkable contributions of individuals like you in the fight against breast cancer. Each year, we acknowledge 25 people who have demonstrated their extraordinary drive and commitment. To show our appreciation, Yoplait donates $1,000 to the Champion's favorite charity. Many are organizations the Champions started themselves. Read their stories.

This list goes on and on, far to much to put here. And last month being Breast Cancer Awareness month, I noticed in all the grocery stores and brand new flavour launched with the pink ribbon on it's packaging stating that 30% of all sales would be donated to BC research.

Cheers...Janet

Do you know which ingredients in that yogurt that are related to breast cancer?

I gave away little packages of dried cranberries for Halloween this year.  Those little pkgs are great easy snack to keep in your purse for when the munchies hit too!

Jan, It sounds as though you are fortunate to have an oncologist who is nutritionally oriented. Besides the daily brazil nuts and Marty's list, are there any other foods your onc recommends? Thanks for all you do...abrite

Cory and I eat a lot of salmon and I put walnuts and cranberries on just about every salad and I fix salads about 4-6 times a week.  The one thing my oncologist added was 2 brazil nuts a day for extra selenium.
Also, for those of us that don't like green tea they say that black tea is just as good.  If you can find tea that says it has "first flush" leaves that is even better.
I am not much on orange zest but I do take vitamin c because OJ just upsets my stomach.  I do eat yogurt everyday
Those are all good foods Marty.  Whole foods are always the best.  It is what nature intended.
Thanks
