This is Lili, Teresa's daughter.  I stayed with her last night.  It was a rough one.  Jan has updated you correctly.  We are waiting now for bowel function.  She is in a lot of pain from the third surgery.  She also has a slight infection in the incision.  The Dr. has started her on antibiotics.  While with her I was reading Good Houskeeping Magazine.  In the magazine I found an ad for the "L'Oreal Color of Hope Cosmetics Bag".  Its a cosemtic bag with lots of nice makeup (lipstick, eye shadows, etc.) with the turqious "Hope" insignia.  With every purchase L'Oreal donates $5.00 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. 1-888-270-7743.

Once again we thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.  I will update you with any new information.

Thanks Jan for all the updates...I swear you go in for one thing in these damn hospitals and come out with other things!!! I feel so sorry for Teresa and I miss her on the forum..Besides that her husband is not well either...I am praying for her to come home and hopefully regain her strength soon ....I worry that the longer she stays there the sicker she may get!  I hope not!!!! Staph infections are quite nasty.  One of my co-worker's husbands had a bowel perforation and has a temporary colostomy as a result.  He had surgery a year ago.  He has had awful staph infections since and until he goes 6 months without they won't reverse his colostomy.  He gets the infectious fluids coming out a boil on his back.  The most powerful antibiotics are needed to get this.  

Oh, Teresa, please be strong and fight this.  We need you back.

Teresa now has two staph infections.  I don't know much about staph infections, so I thought she meant maybe it had entered at two different sites, but she said it is two different types of staph infection.  She was to have a heart test today.  Just tried to call her room and see if she wanted to go out bar hopping and catch a nude guy show.  No answer. Oh well, her loss.  We are going to go see her tomorrow so I will let you know what I find out.

(In case anyone thinks I am serious, I can't remember the last drink I had or the last bar I was in.)

I cant beleive that it has been a month already..this is outrageous! I feel so sorry for Teresa...I am so upset..This reminds me of when I was in the hospital...what should have been a 2-4 day stay ended up being a 21 day stay!! I also developed an ifnfection and I feel so bad that this has happened...Please start a prayer circle to get Teresa home!!!! I am starting with sending tons of prayers and good wishes her way.  Love, Gia

Teresa has now been in the hospital for a month. She currently has a staph infection and is having some digestion problems.  I am going to try and call her later.  I have to go to bed and she is usually at her best between 2-4 so I will try than.  When will this end for her?  I think it is outrageous that they aren't more careful with such susceptible patients.  A staph infection might mean nothing to someone without cancer, but it is a big fricking deal for a cancer patient.  I am about fed up with that hospital and am very grateful I didn't let my friends talk me into going to the hospital she is in which is a world renowned hospital.  I am not seeing the reason for that reputation with the care she is getting.  I have always said that it didn't matter that their football team sucked so bad, because they pump out some of the best Drs in the country.   Now I am not sure about that either.

Thank you so much for the updates!  I remember with my surgeries and bowel function hadn't returned, when my doctor came in and asked, "How can I help you today?"  I looked at him and said, "My Kingdom for a 'spit'!"  (have to get around those word censors ya know!)  Sending love and hugs, and all those "squishy" things as Survivor Susie says!

Thank you very much for the update.  If she can, try rolling on her left side and pull her knees up (fetal position).  It may be too painful, but it sometimes help getting things moving along.  I hard a real hard time after my initial surgery.  Keeping Mom and the family in my prayers as always.  Judy C

Thanks for the up-date.  I hope the bowel function is regained soon.  That is what kept me in the hospital longer than expected.  They had to give me alot of reglan along with everything else to get me functioning enough to go home.  I noticed L'Oreal has ovca info commercials for ovca month.  I did not know about the Hope cosmetics bag.
