Since the questions you both pose are really for your mothers' doctors, I recommend that you make appointments to speak with their medical professionals.

We're a group of women fighting OVCA and don't have the expertise to give medical advice about specific cases.

Perhaps you could get more information by clicking on the forums on the right, further down the page titled: related expert forums: ovarian cancer or chemotherapy. A doctor answers questions on those forums.

Good luck to your mothers.

Hi Teresa,
My mother is of 63 Yrs and her general condition is not good. The stage mentioned in the discharge card was Stage 4. She is receiving Lipodox +Endaxin at an interval of 21 days. She complaints of vomiting and nausea and she has become very weak.

Please see if this information is of help.

my mother 59, was treated for the ovarian cancer for the last 1 year. she has been taken 6 cycle of chemotherapy (paclitaxel). after 5th cycle one surgery done and was quit ok. but last 2 weeks she was suffering pain at abdomen and doctor referred for CT scan. There they found 2 nodes in liver. Now Doctor suggest for another 4 cycle of combine chemo (lipodox 40ml+caraplatin) with a duration of one month each. Now creatinine is 1.4 and urea is 46 and CA125 is 57.56. So she has been given only lipodox this time due to the urea high. Doctor suggested commencing from the 2nd cycle she will be given lipodox+caraplatin. Please let me know how the medicine will effect, and you have any other suggestion for the recovery.

Usually, when there are no responses for the number of days as yours has gone unanswered...means  that we really have no defininitive answer for you one way or another. In other words, we don't know the answer to your question. There are MANY variables in the treatment of this disease. So much could be going on with your Mother. You did not give us any information about her...her age, Stage at dx, her overall health at dx, etc... We still would not really have an answer for you, but might have a little informational help to offer knowing the situation a little better.

I hope your Mother is doing fine now. Let us know what is going on.
