peritonitis

Hi everyone, seems I have pertonitis and am in the hospital receiving IV antibiotics, should be able to hopefully leave tomorrow.  I am feeling so much better already.  Hopefully things will get cleared up and I will still be able to proceed with surgery on the 21st.  I have also been putt on a diuretic and a low sodium diet to try and help the ascites from returning.

Thank you  Angie,  I will eat Dannon plain yogurt with honey from now on.  That sounds good to me.  I am feeling pretty good today and will try and work a little tomorrow.

Hi Kerry,

I haven't made many comments in the past concerning your situation, but sweetie, I've been following your posts and you've certainly been through alot.   I'm glad to hear you are now feeling some relief.

Just one word of caution from an old fashion lady; if you are on a lot of antibiotics, you should eat 'natural' yogurt to avoid yeast infections.  I'm not talking the flavored kind with fruit; just good old fashion mediterranean type of yorgurt.  I'm Greek American and there are several "Greek" marketed natural yogurts of this kind.  Even Dannon's plain yogurt is about the closest you can get to Greek yogurt (I've even used Dannon's plain yogurt as the culture when making yogurt.)  And if you can't tolerate the sourness of yogurt, dripple a natural honey on it to sweeten it up.  Also, I find yogurt is better tasting when it has a consistency of a chip dip.  You can remove the water that collects in the container by dabbing it with a clean towel or even paper towels.  I don't like yogurt when its too watery.  OF COURSE, PLEASE CONSULT WITH YOUR DOCTOR SINCE YOU ARE ON A SPECIAL DIET.

I wish the best for you and that you can go forward with your surgery on the 21st to start fighting this beast full force.

I am glad you are feeling better. You are in my thoughts, and prayers.  I have not been on in awhile, did not realize you were having surgery on the 21st.  It will be here before you know it and I hope all goes well and you will have a speedy recovery.

Love,
Dawnlyn

Hey there, kid!  I am so sorry you are going through all this "stuff".  I, too, hope you get to go home tomorrow and that you never experience this again.  You hang in there, kiddo.  The 21st will be in the past before you know it.
I am glad to learn you are feeling better.
Peace.

I'm glad they found the cause and that you are feeling better already.  So much for not draining you to avoid infection!!!   I'm hoping that you will have surgery on schedule and that it will do the trick.
