Hey there girl......so glad to learn you will be getting a short break. I know what you mean about cigarettes. I stopped about 12 years ago.......you should see the afgan I croched......it has wings! When I quit smoking I told my kids I wouldn't start again unless" I ever find out I have cancer ". Well, as I was leaving the gyn parking lot, after being told "you have ovarian cancer", I was heading for the nearest convenience store and I stopped.......I thought, "oh my god, with my luck I'll live and have to quit again!". Quitting is tough......I didn't smoke again, but I still have moments when I think, "man, a cigarette would sure taste good right now". Anyway, good luck in your quest.
Happy Holidays, Joanne.
Peace.

Thanks for the story and well wishes. I have never attempted to try to stop smoking..so I'm in uncharted waters so to say....oh well...I needed a good new years resolution and now I have one!! ~~~Joanne
You can do it! You can quit smoking because it's a TOTAL health issue now. You want the chemo to work, so just quit smoking and you will be SO THANKFUL you did! I quit 29 years ago. I can't say it was easy, but it was not impossible. I put them down and never picked them up again. I can't stand to be around cigarette smoke now. It literally makes me sick.
You have my best wishes. Enjoy your chemo break.

Drink cranberry, orange, lots of juice.Eat lots of fruits, you know things that taste like **** with cigs. After your better,I know eating is hard right now.Chew gum, lots and lots of gum.Eat Ice cream, anything with lots of calories, you need to put on some weight. Can you take vitamins and herbal supplements?Even with cancer, you'll be surprised how much better you feel with no smoking.Good Luck,Jen
Good luck with the tamoxifen, I found it made me nausuas and tired but not like chemo. I then tried arimidex and that was ok for a while. but off that now am suppose to go back on tamoxifen but am going to wait until after the holidays. My cancer hasn't come back but I am Braca ! and estrogen positive on the tumor. good luck it is diffenently better than chemo , no hair loss.
Enjoy your break, you deserve it!!
I hope you regain some of your apetite and are able to start enjoying food again. And all the best for New year and your next treatment course.
Merry Christmas....Janet
Joanne,
Well I wish you luck on this next chemo. I am looking at navelbine in the very near future myself. Just try not to worry and enjoy your break!
I also know what you mean about the cigarettes as I have not quit either and have never really tried. If you find something that works, I hope that you will share it.
Love Chris
