So glad ot hear your CA-125 was low. I also think the signs are hopeful that all is benign. You might try posting a new topic about the hormonal patch. It will hopefully flag others who have first hand knowledge and have used it.
Please keep us posted on how you are doing!

Thanks for the information. I have never been diagnosed with PCOS but I would not be surprised to find out that I did have PCOS. I have had cysts on my ovaries since I was 13. Although I have been able to have two children so it didn't inhibit my ability to get pregnant. I started birth control to help regulate my cycle and the pain. I was on BC from 16 yo - 22 yo.
I am 42 and have been in the process of menopause for a few years (about 4). So maybe the hormonal shifts could be a component.
I had a good report on my CA 125. I was at a 9, very low and very good. However, I have read that 25% of low CA 125's still have malignant cysts. So I am hopeful, but reserved.
After the surgery and a little recovery time the doctors is going to put me on a hormone patch. Just estrogen since I do not have a uterus and will not need progestin. I am hoping that with the patch and a steady level of estrogen that I will start to resemble the old me. Which would include weight loss, increased energy, less moody...
Does anyone have any post surgery information on using the hormonal patch?

I have seen other women post who ended up having multiple benign complex cysts. They often occur in association with PCOS. Have you ever had this condition? Hormonal imbalances can also cause them without PCOS. Any complex cyst can cause worry of malignancy. But, the majority of malignant ones have one large cyst rather than multiple small ones on the same ovary. Hopefully, all will be benign! Good luck on your surgery!
