2 weeks of bloating

I am 50 and post menopausal for 5 years.  I have never had kids nor have I ever had any problems in the past with my gynecological exams.  I have not had a pap smear in 2 years and for the last 2 weeks I am having some serious bloating right in my waistline...it seems to be getting worse.  I cannot button my pants and keep my zipper down when I sit.  It seems to be a bit tighter on the right side of my belly button.  I have no other symptoms of anything...My next pap smear appt is not until 3 weeks from now.  Should I go to emergency and will they order an ultrasound?  I am wondering the quickest steps to take to find out what is wrong.  I do not have insurance and dont want to start going from dr. to dr.
Any suggestion?  I would appreciate any help.  Thanks, Nancy

Absolutely second the suggestion to try Planned Parenthood.  When my gyno started ordering tests that I couldn't afford I went to PP and got them affordably and promptly done.  Fabulous organization that provides gynocological health services for women of all ages and needs,at a price that you can afford.  I have always received great care there and would recommend them to any woman.

Try Planned Parenthood.  I don't think the ER will consider a little bloating to be an emergency.  Also, cut your salt intake in the next few days and see if that helps.
