Have you had your surgery as yet?
If not - find out what your doctor will do. it will most likely be a laparoscopy where the doc makes an incision through your belly button and then place a camera into your body and then inflate you with gas and drain the cyst.

Ask to be done early in the morning, if possible. If done, you might be able to go home by evening, although I've had 3 already and found it incredibly uncomfortable. The gas move around in your body and it hurts when you move etc. Find out if you might stay over if it is done later during the day.

They will ask you to get up soon after the surgery to go to the loo, they don't insert a catheter and even though it hurts when the gas moves around, it helps to get it out when you move.
You will be burpy and farty afterwards - a lot - once again it helps to relieve the gas and it takes about 2 weeks for the gas to be absorbed or expelled.

Good luck!!!
