I don't know what else will help for that. I'm glad the castor oil packs are helping!
My daughter currently has blood and pus in her hip flexor from a cyst. The doctor says it will take maybe 3 months for her body to absorb the fluid. She is doing castor packs which seem to be helping.
Anything else that will help??
I came upon this because I just had an ovarian cyst rupture two days ago. I went to the ER, where it was diagnosed. I have been looking everywhere to find out how long the pain and discomfort lasts. I was told ruptured cysts happen all of the time, take ibuprofen, follow up later with your gynocologist. While I feel somewhat better, I'm still in a fair amount of pain and my abdomen is distended. This was really scary for me as I had no idea what was going on and there is very little info around for what to expect after it happens. Thank you to both of you for sharing!
Hi, thank you for you answer ( and on my other question :) ) When I get the very intense sharp, stabbing pain that come on all of a sudden, I always fear that it is the cyst/mass rupturing. The pain can last anywhere form 5 seconds to half an hour, usually when it is lasting a long time, by the time I think it's time to go to the hospital, it subsides enough for me to be able to move and eventually the pain lessons. I think my biggest fear is that it will rupture during the day when it is just me and my youngest daughter at home, ( she just turned 4) and that I will pass out or something, I don't want he to have to go though that and be scared. I have read that certain cysts can rupture while others have more chance of twisting. What kind of cysts have you had? Thank you.
Yes it is possible for a cyst to leak and not just rupture all at once. When a cyst ruptures, you normally don't have vaginal bleeding (at least I have never experienced that). When a cyst ruptures, you will get very sharp pains (I thought my appendix had ruptured when I had a cyst rupture) that just won't let up. You may feel a bit dizzy, nauseous, and a headache (kind of like you feel when you have a cyst, but on a much larger scale).
I have had several cysts rupture. The one that I remember the most was about 6 years ago. I was taking a shower and all of the sudden I had the worst pain I had ever felt in my lower right pelvic region. It was so bad that I had to have my husband help me out of the shower. I called my dr. thinking it was my appendix and they had me come in right away. By this time, I am sobbing because I am in so much pain. They sent me for a transvaginal ultrasound and saw that there was fluid in the cul-de-sac and they knew that I had a ruptured cyst. Eventually my pain lessened that day, but I hurt for a few days. Unfortunately there is nothing they can do for a ruptured cyst. When a cyst ruptures ( a fluid filled) your body absorbs the fluid back into your body.
