Can loin/flank pain be connected to an ovarian cyst

I have had intense pain in my right kidney area, but kidneys show as clear on ct scan.  But I have a 6.5cm ovarian cyst on the other side. Has anyone had anything similar as going out of my mind with the frustration of getting it treated.  Should see a gynaecologist within a fortnight

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. The good thing is that most ovarian cysts are benign (non-cancerous). And most end up going away on their own. However, yours is on the large side so monitoring it may not be an option.

If you do need to undergo surgery, it is best to have just the cyst removed (cystectomy) so you can keep your ovary and its LIFE LONG job of producing  hormones that are needed for every aspect of health.

Please keep us posted. Best of luck to you!
