Worried mother with not enough info

This is my first post. My daughter is 25 years old. She has had thyroid cancer and, consequently, a thyroidectomy. She has been cancer free for three years. Recently she developed migraines.
The thing that has me worried is that quite recently she had a CT scan that revealed cysts in both ovaries and fluid in her uterus as well as blood in urine. I've looked online and asked her doctors, but no answers yet.
Can you help us?

Hi, I am also thyroidless and also have the cyst on ovaries.  There has been a great deal of research on the benefits of iodine, in regard to both the thyroid and cyst.  I would look into that if I were you . I am new to the iodine so I can't quote on a personnal experience with that but I have read many post on other boards where the iodine has taken AWAY fibroids and cyst and also helped thryoid issues along with many other things. I don't know how well your daughters thryoid is being handled either, or what meds she is on for that but from my personnal experience of 18yrs on synthroid I am switching to armour in june.  DO ALOT OF RESEARCH. I have suffered needlessly until I have now taken CONTROL of my thryoid and am more demanding of a better treatment. MANY doctors leave us thryoidless people suffering with very low levels (but within normal) .  and say your"re levels are good so youre probably depressed or some other stupid excuse.  MAke sure you get your daughter to have her FREE T3 AND FREE T4 checked . not just the tsh level as many endo's go by.  my tsh level has been NORMAL several times with my free T3 way at the bottom and the FREE T4 almost over the range.  The free t3 and free t4 should be with 10% of each other .her numbers should be 60 to 80 % of the range for a woman in childbearing years.  Like I said research and talk to people. Join many forums and trust what other patients are saying. Definatly do your research though . Don't always trust what every doctor says . They have KEPT me sick and played the waiting game for 4 years of my life. NO more though !!! I found a doctor who WILL treat me with armour thyroid .  I did ok with synthroid for 14 yrs. but the past 4 it just isn't working for me. So hopefully I will be well soon.  And I hope you find a good doctor not a narrowminded endo that won't look beyond the tsh test.

Has she had exploratory lap?  I would question endometriosis or PCOS depending on the other symptoms.  I too had a thyroidec and have endo with a recent surgery to remove a very large cyst.  Make sure to keep her endocrinologist informed.  All thee best!

I'm sorry to hear about all your daughter's difficulties, at this time. It must be hard for a Mother to watch....and your worry must be incrediable. I don't think I can offer much help, medicinally, at least, but wanted both your daughter and you to know I care and am thinking and praying for the best for her. You are, both, doing the right thing.....going to the doctor and asking questions. Don't stop seeking resolution to her issues!!!! You may want to consider a gynocologist/oncologist if for no other reason than she has had cancer before (glad she has been cancer free for three years). That extra three years of training above a gyn is VERY important, and they really know what they are doing when it comes to issues of the female organs. I'll keep you, both, in my thoughts and please feel free to post with any questions and/or concerns. We all really do care. Take care.

Hugs,
Shari
