DR called me?

Hi ladies.
So I am no stranger to ovarian cysts. I have had surgery to remove them in the past, but it has been about 14 years. I have also been in the ER a few times with the pain of ruptured ones, thinking for sure I had apendecitis.

Last Friday, I went to the ER with some pretty good pain in my right side. The pain has been there off and on for months, but was pretty severe, and in my back, even shooting down my leg.Nausea too. I figured once again, my appendix or a ruptured cyst.

After a CT scan, blood tests etc, they sent me home saying everything looked normal...the DR said it was probably muscular. I left there feeling like an assistant and nodded my head when they said to follow  up with my primary.

Gast forward to today. I get a message from my primary's loffice saying my Dr wants to see me. I ask why, and it's regarding the CT scan. I press and she, the gal whom I'm speaking with says they found a 4cm cyst on the scan.  IMAGINE THAT.

I'm furious that they sent me home saying nothing was wrong.  Now I am concerned that they want to see me. In all of my history,  I have never had my primary call me wanting me to come in after being diagnosed via CT from the ER.

Don't put think it's because they mislead me at the hospital, or because the cyst looks less than normal. In a weird way imnpleased. Time for this thing to go....it's been to long. And at least I know I'm not nuts. Lol

Thank you for responding, old_ before_my _time. Because I have had pain for so many months prior to the immense pain that took me to the ER, I have a sneaking suspicion that a trip to the OR is in order. I'm only a bit scared that my GP wants to see me so quickly. Like I said, I'm no stranger to these, or surgery for that matter, unfortunately. Cystectomy, scar tissue removal and a partial hysterectomy. At this point, I'm just tired of the annoying pain that comes and goes and do not want to deal with another attack like last week.

Welcome to the community. Sorry you are dealing with this. Let us know what you find out. Hopefully, it is just a "typical" benign cyst as most are and, better yet, I hope it resolves on its own so you don't need surgery. Let us know what you find out.
