I think what your new gyno is talking about is going in and doing exploratory laporscopic from the sound of your post. Basically they go in through your belly button with a scope an look around at your insides to see just exactly what is going on. You will have a couple of small incisions most likeley to the sides of your belly button also. I had this done probably 12 years ago, it is an outpatient procedure. Not sure about the endometrosis part. Your doctor will discuss all your options of what she can do before she operates, most of the time they can take care of things when they are in there. Not sure on the size of the cyst and if it has anything to do with cancer. One of my friend's daughters had a 24 pound cyst removed and no cancer. Mine was large and the tests befoe the surgery showed no cancer. I go for my follow up next week, but I'm sure if there was a problem I would have heard by now.

I forgot to add that my new gyno said that depending on my ultrasound results, lyproscopic (spelling?) surgery is definetley an option to look at.. what is involved in this and if I do have endo would this mean the surgery would be any different?
