I'm 26 years old and did an ultrasound in August and a nodule about 1.2* 1.5 cm was found in my left ovary when I did my routine examination. The doctor did some blood test after the result came but everything was quite normal. I didn't feel any pain either. She couldn't say what it was but asked me to do the ultrasound after 3 months. Yesterday, I did my second ultrasound and the result was that "The left ovary measures 2.3 x 3.3 x 2.3 cm. There is a 1.4 x 1.2 x 1.3 cm non-shadowing, echogenic lesion within the left ovary. This is a nonspecific finding and may represent a hemorrhagic functional follicle. The left ovary is unremarkable, measuring 3.3 x 3.0 x 2.2 cm. No adnexal mass is seen" and they also put "impression: Normal pelvic ultrasound". I thought it was fine but the doctor told me that it was not and I need to take another ultrasound after 3 months. She seemed suspicious about "it may present a hemorrhagic functional follicle" because it has been there for a long time. She also said that she couldn't tell what it was and I should talk to some experts.
I got scared because they couldn't come to a conclusion if it's benign and it seems that the follicle doesn't disappear by itself. I'm only 26 years old and may want to have a baby in the future. Anyone knows if it's serious? How do I know if it's cancer or not?
My dad has just removed one of his kidney because of the cancer. I haven't told my parents about this because they are very sensitive to this topic now and I don't want to make them worried. :(
