septated cyst with flow

Hello

I recently went to emergency with excessive pain in my low right side. The pain woke me up. It was in the same area where I have been having intermittent discomfort and pain during intercourse  and generally without provocation over the past 4 years. I have been the on birth control for the past 20 years. I am 45 years old.

When I have the discomfort, I feel something like gas in my lower right side (cecum??) and feel pain in the area when passing urine  or moving bowels. I also have more flatulence at that time.

The recent ultrasound says "Right Ovary - septated cyst 3.9x 3.4x 3.3 cm; septation demonstrates flow (N) arterial flow, no diostolic wave to RM. Nodularity seen in post aspect of cyst no vasc flow? clot? nodule.  Concerning for neoplasm. Endometrium 4.1 m undistinct: andeomyosis".

I have been referred to an ONGYN but am anxious because the earliest this doctor could take me is Feb 13 and I want more information on the likley level of risk (low malignancy etc..). Early when the pain started 4 years ago, I had a painful rupture of a cyst at that time. I am now concerned that perhaps that one was cancerous and there were cancer cells released in my abdomen as a result- I am very concerned about this. ANY information would be VERY MUCH appreciated.

No I have not had a hysterectomy, oopherectomy and I am not near menopause. I am fairly anxious to have it removed. The pain is a problem and it has been so long. I understand that septation is more of a concern if there is blood flow as in my case.

I also am having similar problems...I have the same pain that you described almost exactly to a "T".  The ultrasound showed a septated cyst that has grown over the last 8 months.  I saw a surgeon 2 weeks ago that said cancer would only be a concern if I'd gone through menapause.  I see another surgeon on wednesday (for a second opinion) and he said they could schedule surgery within 2 weeks if that's what I want.  Have you had a hysterectomy and/or oopherectomy?  or have you gone through  menopause?

I really can't answer this for you but wanted to bump it up in the hope that someone else will come along. I know the waiting is extremely hard, I have been there, so hang in there. I think that it is a good thing that you have been referred to an ONGYN,not that I think you have cancer, but in the small, rare chance that you did, you will be in good hands. Let us know what happens!
