Hi everyone, I am new here. I have been scrolling through the boards the past few weeks and decided I would join and post. Seems like a wonderful place for advice and support.
I am 32 years old with 3 beautiful girls. A bit of my history, I have HPV and have had dysplasia present on a few colposcopy's.
I also have a history of functional cysts, and had a 6cm one removed during tubal ligation.
For the past few months, I have had very bad periods. Painful, heavy and very large clots. I also have painful ovulation and lower abdominal pain that would come and go.
I scheduled an appt with my family practice OB for a pap. I discussed my concerns and instead of doing a pap, she sent me for ultrasound. At that time we also discussed a hysterectomy, due to my cyst issues and having symptoms. (I have been to ER quite a few times for pain) So the ultrasound came back and this is what was found;
Endometrial thickening (13mm), endometrial calcification, subendometrial cysts. These cysts were present on transvaginal us done in 2013.
No cysts in right ovary, few cysts in cervix. 2cm COMPLEX cyst with septations and vascular flow inside, in my left ovary.
Dr. called and requested a sono with saline to be done after my next period. And she also put me on Birth control.
I didn't make it more then 4 days and was in ER with extreme left side pain. They thought that maybe the left side cyst ruptured, so they did another transvaginal. The cyst grew 1/2 cm and they classified it as hemorrhagic. Sent me home with pain meds.(this was all last week)
I had my sono with saline today. OOUCH!!!!! And she found NOTHING. The whole thing took about 20 minutes, and about 10 of those minutes were spent trying to get at my uterus and refilling the saline.
I am so confused. How does this complex cyst disappear so fast, where did the enodometrial cysts go and calcification!?!? Especially from being there for years. The family practice OB did the sono herself and did the readings herself. I thought a radiologist would be doing the readings. Nope. Should I call someone else..get a 2nd opinion? No explanation or worrying about my periods, or the fact I am in so much pain (and still in pain!) If the complex cyst was hemorrhagic and ruptured, that would have been seen as free fluid. I have done lots of research...and nothing is adding up.
I don't want something to be wrong, but at the same time, I want answers and do not want to miss anything. Anything bad caught early is best. I feel dismissed and left with nothing. And I just do not feel right about anything. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!!!
