How long do I have to wait

2 week ago I was told I possibly have a hemorrhagic cyst on my left ovary.  7 years ago I had a right oophorectomy my right ovary basically exploded. I am just worried the same thing will happen on the left, because the pain is the same. I have been the the DR 3 time, I know it needs to come out. I am afraid when I get my period any day the left one will explode. How do I get the DR to take me serious. And how long do I have to wait? Take it out now!!
Not looking forward to the pain!

I agree that if you are not getting anywhere with your doctor to go to the ER and make sure that your ovary is not twisting (torsion), which would require emergency surgery.  Have you been seeing the gynecologist or your regular doctor?  If you have been seeing your pcp, ask for a referral to a gynecologist, or you could call your insurance company to see if you can just go straight to the gynecologist.  If you HAVE been seeing your gynecologist, I would consider getting a second opinion with a different gynecologist.  You need to find a doctor who is going to listen to your past experience and work with you to ease your mind.  I would NOT wait any longer.  I would be demanding a follow up ultrasound immediately, or get a surgery dated started.  Be the squeaky wheel.  Keep in mind that :THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE OIL!!

If you are having serious pain with it, go to the ER.  Tell them about the explosion of your right ovary and tell them you do not want to risk having the other one do the same.  Ask for a comparative ultrasound, if you can stand the pain of it.  I had a torqued (torsion) hemorrhagic cyst myself and wound up having emergency surgery.  If I remember correctly, it was about seven cm.
