Is bloating and PMS related to Ovarian Cysts

Dears,

I have just discovered that I have a Simple Right Ovarian Cyst measures 3.1x3.2x3.7cm through a recent sonogram test and I have following questions

I have experienced abdominal bloating and PMS in the past 3 and half months, I have no pain so far.
My bloating symptoms are:
Although the bloating has been with me over 3 months now, In the past 2-3 weeks, it comes every day and last from 3-6 hours a day. Usually it starts when I experience short and difficult breath, consequently, I started to deep breath and a large amount of air, after a few minutes, I started bloating.
PMS symptoms are:
Low quality of sleep during the night( wake up every night in the past 2-3 weeks)
Mood swings
Feeling pain or fullness of the Breasts

According to the symptoms, I am wondering
Do you think all these symptoms has to do with Ovarian Cyst?
Do you think the Birth control pill will actually control, eventually reduce the ovarian cyst? So the symptoms can disappeared accordingly?
Is there any other practice to do in order to relief the discomfort of the bloating and PMS, besides taking Birth control pill?
If the cyst does not reduce or disappear in the next few months, is it a better idea to remove it though surgery? Is it possible to do a surgery if the size is less than 4cm?

Please share with me your experiences. I am really really grateful for your input.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Oh yes I have also been told that the doctor is going to give me a high dose of vitamin b6 aswell as the pill to control the Pms. I think Pms is dismissed too easily, it can be extreme and really wreck your life! Good luck I hope you get sorted..

I would say all of your symptoms definitely relate to the cyst.. especially the breast tenderness. I had a cyst of similar size and it went away on the next scan, although there was a new one on the other ovary! Apparently the ovaries take turns.. I live in the Uk and was told it was nothing to worry about and that they don't cause pain, but they do! Around ovulation and menstruation! They cause my periods to be late and now have caused my breasts to be lumpy and have thickening areas, I have had them checked today and feel that this must all be related! I am going back on the pill for 6 months to see if it changes things.. I have had night sweats and severe mood swings too and feel the doctors think I should just put up with it. I was told that if my cyst was still there after 2 cycles it would be removed by laparoscopy and mine was 3.7cm. Hope this helps!
