Is it a cyst? Or Cancer?

Hello!
My mother has been suffering from pain from her right Ovary for years. She refuses to see a doctor because she is afraid it may be cancer. Here is what's going on:

13 years ago my mother had her tubes tied, however, when they were cauterizing on her right side (which is the side she has been having problems with) she felt some pain, the way she explained it was like a tug and some pain.

Ever since, she has had sharp shooting pains on that side, it has gotten to the size of a golf ball, maybe a bit bigger. And it only gives her problems during her menstrual cycle; she said when she walk it catches as well. It renders her unable to walk or shift around for three days of her cycle. What is this? Any information will be highly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Are you saying she feels something or an ultrasound shows something "the size of a golf ball?" Did they ligate / tie the tubes or use the Essure coils? The coils have been problematic for a number of women. Both methods cause scar tissue (adhesions) which can cause discomfort or pain. If she hasn't had an ultrasound that would be a good idea to rule out other problems.

Best of luck to her and keep us posted on what you find out.
