6cm cyst

I have been in severe pain for over a week, yesterday my Dr. sent me for a CT scan and the results showed a 6cm cyst. My primary care doctor referred me to a OB/GYN. When I called their next appointment is a week out. Is it safe to wait or should I look for another specialist?

Thank you so much. They did say to call each morning to see if there were any cancellations. Thank you again for a bit of a piece of mind.

A one week wait is not unreasonable. However you may ask if they have a cancellation call list where they will call you if anything opens up sooner. Ovarian cysts are not unusual, and although painful, are typically benign!! Good Luck!
