One other treatment option is birth control pills. Sometimes merely correcting a hormone imbalance with the pill is enough. This does not work for every type of cyst or for every woman. It is a non-surgical option that doctors may try first for simple cysts.
Solid cysts such as dermoids must be surgically removed. Waiting for them to rupture is a very bad idea.
Any cyst carries some risk of being ovarian cancer, especially complex ones, so it is important to be under the care of a gynecologist and not to self-diagnose. Let the doctor determine if a cyst is safe or suspicious enough to need surgery.
Sometimes they just rupture on there own it can be pretty painful and other times they may need to be surgically removed. I would recommend seeing you gynocologist to get an appropriate plan of action best of luck BB
I've had a bunch of ovarian cysts. Normally, I wouldn't know that I had them until they burst and I was in extreme pain in which case I would just be treated with pain meds. If the cysts are to big they can be removed surgically but often times the body will just absorb the cyst and it will go back down but it can fill up again. Hope that helps!
