Ovarian Issues

I have not been feeling right for the past couple of months.  I have been sick to my stomach off and on, I have had indigestion and gas as well as right side ovarian pain. Over the past month I have had two detailed pelvic, rectal exams which have included two different Transvaginal Ultrasounds.  The first TVU found no cyst but the top of my ovary appeared a little abnormal.  My doctor thought is was interesting that my ovary hurt when it appeared I didn't even ovulate from that side this month.  I then came back two weeks later and there was a small 1.5 cm cyst on my right ovary with fluid around the ovary.  He said it could be a post ovulation cyst.  He said my abdomen looked fine and that he wanted me to wait until after my period to be examed again. He said that after my cycle, the cyst may resolve itself as well as the fluid.

My question is that I still feel sick to my stomach a lot.  Most mornings I feel like I am going to throw up. I have worse ovarian pain and I just don't feel like myself.

What could this be? My doctor said that it is not ovarian cancer because there is no cyst/mass to reflect that.

Any thoughts on what this could be?  Anyone have a similar experience?

I agree with Laney.  But I also think you might need to see a gastroenterologist for the stomach issues. It could be totally not related to the cyst.  I don't know what kind of insurance you have, but if you have to see your primary first, tell that doctor your symptoms and see what they recommend. Good luck!

Hi there,
Is there any chance you could be pregnant? Just a thought. It really helps if you fill out your profile so we know your age etc. It makes it easier to reply to a post.
So from what you have said, you are still ovulating. Cysts are so very very common to premenopausal women. Most have them, they come and go and many don't even know they have one. The problem appears when they get pain from them. This is usually what sends women to the doctors. They have a transvaginal ultrasound as you did and that is when they are found. Usually, the doc will do another ultrasound to look for resolution or change in the cyst. Most resolve and not treatment is necessary.
The cyst you have is very small. Im not saying this is not causing your problems. Even small cysts can wreak havoc on our systems. On the same note, some women have much larger cysts and never know they have them until they are found accidentally on a pelvic exam.
Try and take comfort in knowing this is all normal. Sounds like your doc is right on top of things. Have the repeat transvaginal ultrasound and let us know how you are doing.
We have all been through this and are more than willing to help you out through this scary time.
Take care and keep us posted
