Hey there, I'm new here and only 18 almost 19. So still very young. Last Tuesday I started to have some intense pain in the low right quadrant and went to the er where my college is, they hooked me up to ivs and told me I had the flu and to go home. Ned few days I was still having pain felt very sick and just uncomfortable, and Thursday morning woke up throwing up with this pain so went to the clinic at my hometown and again Hooked up to ivs for hydration, gravol ad morphine, had a ultra sound blood test and all that, then was told I had the flu and given a prescription for Percocets for pain, very weird I thought, knowing this wasnt the flu within a few hours of being home I was at the er and waited from 11pm to 7am and finally got a room, I was hooked up to the iv fluids for hydration and gravol and the morphine was pushed cause the pain was so intense. Had more test done and everything came back normal, instead of the doctors sending me away they got the surgeon to come look at me and she instantly admitted me over night then talk about surgery in the am, the next day I was looked at and had laprascopy explained, I went into sugery at 1145 pm Saturday and I just remember waking up in intense pain, I thought it was just the usual after surgery what I was going through but on Monday night I stopped peeing, I would have 1100ccs of urine and not have a urge to go , then my bowels stopped, so had to have a few in and out cathadores to drain my bladder. I was explained that when in surgery your bladder can become paralyzed and take some time to start working.the surgery exploratory since we had no idea what was happening it was possibly appendix, but once he got in he found lots of blood in my pelvis from a ruptured ovarian cyst, he couldn't get all the blood so my body had to Obsorb the rest and I was told it would be painful. was I was kept in the hospital till today , Thursday an surgery was Saturday night 1145pm. I am still having pain but its a all over pain, It even is uncomfortable laying trying to sleep, I have no apatite what so ever and have extreme neasua , how long Is this going to last? When should I feel kind of better ? I am a nursing student so trust me I understand everyone heals differently I would just like a time line maybe?? And some advice on some dos and donts? Being young health care providers don't take you seriously I find ad nothing was explained other than if I don't pee in 12 hours goto the er right away. I am of the few unlucky people who always get the side effects and I wasn't told anything that should alarm me? So could I always get some tips on what I should be looking for or aware of ?? Thanks so much for your guys help! Means alot!
