You can try heating pads to help with the pain. Talk to your doctor about surgery possibilities. It depends on what type and size of cyst you have. Most doctors won't remove a cyst less than 5cm big. Removing one ovary would still allow you to conceive a child. It will take your remaining ovary a few weeks to kick in and start working as the only ovary and you should be okay. But your doctor has to determine if that is best. If your cyst is big enough or it continues to grow despite treatment to shrink it, surgically removing it should eliminate the pain. Talk to your doctor about it. Good luck!

Audrey I can imagine what you're feeling as I've had cysts for the past 5 years without knowing what it was. I would advise you to immediately see an ob/gyn. Tell them your pain is so bad you can't stand it.. Ask for something to help the pain, I don't know if you have any allergies to medications but I was given oxycodone. If you are not immediately able to see a doctor taking a warm bath helps or if you have a heating pad apply it. They do tell you to be careful because excessive heat can rupture the cyst. If you had acetaminophen on hand you might want to take the dose recommended and that may possibly take the edge off. I'm not a doctor but it might be best to keep your ovary if at all possible, you never know when you may need it. Your ob/gyn may prescribe birth control if you are found to have functional cysts(this of course will not immediately help you). If you can't stand it any further go the emergency room and tell them your symptoms. Good luck!
