I'm sorry to hear you're having a hysterectomy. Did your cervical biopsy show CIN3? Did you have a LEEP to treat the dysplasia to see if that removed the abnormal cells?
Most ovarian cysts resolve on their own, no intervention needed. 1.7cm is really small. Our ovaries are vital our whole lives for good health so you don't want to have one or both ovaries removed if it isn't necessary. Unfortunately, both hysterectomy and oophorectomy (ovary removal) are grossly overused. Both of these surgeries are inherently damaging since the these organs have life long function. Contrary to what we are led to believe, they are not just for reproduction.
