I was diagnosed with a 6 cm cyst only right ovary. The same ovary that had. 3 cm cyst on it  weeks ago. But my dr is calling it a mass now. What is the difference. And how can I take care of this?

I have a 5cm cyst as well. My Dr told me the difference between a cyst and mass is its a cyst if it's filled with only fluid but if it has other material inside it that's when they consider it a mass. I hope this helps and that everything is okay *hugs*

Hi,
Fluid containing cysts which are < than 5 cm, are usually considered benign and without much significance. However if the cyst grows and changes its nature then there is cause of concern. Removal or cysts aspiration are the options available depending on the nature of the cyst. You may discuss with your Doctor.
Hope this helps.
