Being down passed your knee, im not sure if it is related or not. I had pain in lower back, hips, and thighs for my cysts. It drove me nuts! If you're really concerned that it could be caused by the hormone med, please do not hesitate to go and see your doctor and make sure things are okay. You want to make sure it is just caused because of the cyst, or that its not a risk of blood clots or maybe its an ache in muscles are you drinking enough, getting enough vitamins etc as those can also cause aches. etc as with hormone meds(at least with birth control) age depending, fam history, etc you're at risk of blood clotting ( not that I'm wanting to scare you, just want to make sure you know what the cause of this pain is if its a new pain. It may not even be at all related to the cysts!!)
Well and with the hormone med, it is like also affecting your moods etc because it is throwing your hormones out of whack adjusting to this med. Feeling depressed is very common when being in pain, trying to deal with the cysts, etc. Its very easy to feel overwhlemed with the pain, ultrasounds, tests, meds, doctor appts, etc.. So just take it easy! Do what you need to in order to stay calm and relaxed... i know easier said than done.... Talk to your doctor too about it because it could be that your body is having a hard time with the medications.
Hi Giddik,
That's most likely from the cyst. I have the same shooting pain down my left leg and I know it's due to the cyst. It is also a dull pain.
Don't be scared Giddik and it is ok to be scared. I have been taking Xanax every night for the past 3 nights to help cope with the anxiety and so I can sleep and stop crying... But know we are here. Let me know how things are progressing.
another question....I have started having pains in my legs, just below my knees. Doesn't seem to be a muscle, it is just a dull aching pain. Could this be caused by the hormone med. or the cyst or am I just falling apart???? I am scared to say that I am getting depressed from being in pain all the time!!!
Hi giddik, I am on the same boat, pretty much the same size/type cyst. I take Midol and I find it not only help me with the pain but also with the bloating. I am having surgery on the 17th
I found for me, ibuprofen and heat didnt touch the pain that much. But stretching did help dull the pain.... whether I was standing or laying, and pulling my leg up to my chest really seemed to at least kind of dull the pains, same with stretching over a counter etc helped cause i got a lot of discomort in my lower back.
Dont be discouraged if the hormone meds dont work right away, my cysts were just simple fluid cysts and it didnt touch the one on right side at all and i needed surgery. But on my left side, I had to be on birth control for 3 months at a time for it to help the cyst go away at all. Good luck! Hopefully something gives you relief from the cysts soon!
I had a friend with a ovarian cyst. She used tylonal, it helped a bit. She also did not move around a lot. I don't know if this will help, but I wanted you to know you are not invisible, I just don't really know how to help. She also used cold in the affected area. That may also help.
