52 year old woman and my ovaries cant be seen on ultrasound

HI, I have just come back from an intra ultrasound and and regular ultrasound.  The last time I had this done they couldn't find one of my ovaries and the other one had a small cyst on it.  Today no ovary or cyst can be found. I was doing this because I wasn't being covered by medical insurance, they were not wanting to cover me for any ovarian problems due to the cyst.  Is it normal to not see my ovaries now?

Thanks, my doctor said they can shrivel, so if this is the case and they can't find the cyst either, then fingers crossed I will be able to be covered by my insurance company for any ovarian issues in the future if they do happen.

I have heard of ovaries not being visible on ultrasound. The ovaries are really small - the size of almonds - and shrink some after menopause (even though they continue to produce hormones into a woman's 80's).
