Thank you so much. I am now feeling much better and can walk long distance without any pain, of course some times I feel done which I think is normal as I am still recovering. I am now in my 5th week recovery.
Thanks for your encouragement.
That all happened quickly; they did not waste any time to get you in for surgery! Laparotomy recovery is typically 6 weeks so it sounds like your recovery is proceeding in a typical manner. It can take some time too for the ovary to resume its normal hormone production which can cause some temporary symptoms too. Hope you are feeling much better in a few weeks!
Thank you so much for your response.
I had Laparotomy done on 23th June 2015, it was all a nightmare I never knew I had ovarian cyst about 6cm until on the night of 21 June when I felt some pain in the abdomen it went on until the next morning of 22nd June. I decided I should visit the hospital and I met this gynecologist who upon scanning discovered that a cyst which needed surgery as soon as possible. I was scheduled for operation the following day that was on the 23rd June. They found the cyst and removed it and my ovary was just fine.
My recovery was fine I had some little pain and I was able to walk and move around on the 25th of June and on 26th June I was out of the hospital.
I then started work 2 weeks after the surgery of which some times when I knock off I feel weak as this is now my 4th week since the operation. I hope it’s normal since the healing process I am told its 6 weeks.
Everyone's experience is different to some degree or other. Some feel well very quickly but still need to comply with doctor's orders to heal properly inside and out. Others need more time to get back to feeling normal. This will partly depend on the type of surgery - laparoscopic (tiny incisions) vs. laparotomy (long horizontal or vertical abdominal incision).
Some women tend to develop ovarian cysts. If the cyst was completely removed, it doesn't seem like it would grow back.
I hope this helps!
