It's true that they can't be 100% sure until they take it out and examine it, but based on statistics and past experiences, doctors can be almost certain that they won't be cancerous. They usually are not cancerous, just a big hassle to deal with. Try not to worry yourself too much. Yes, cysts can certainly interfere with your periods. I had open surgery (laparatomy) and for me recovery was quick and easy. Everyone is different, but don't worry too much. You'll be just fine :)
Thankyou sooo much was yours a dermoid and how big? is laperatomy key hole cuz they said they want to do key hole surgery if they can. how was yours found and how long did you wait for surgery, so sorry just anxious and want to know more as i feel in the dark about it all Xxx
Mine was a 10 cm complex cyst that grew quite rapidly the last few weeks. I waited a couple of months for the surgery because there were issues with the insurance and waiting was horrible. You worry too much and read and read and worry more because of what you read, etc. A laparatomy is the regular open surgery, which is what I had because my cyst was complex and they didn't want to risk spilling its contents when trying to squeeze them through a key hole incision. A surgery consisting of keyhole incisions is called a laparascopy. For me, my surgery, although it was a regular open surgery, was quite easy to recover from. I have had a c-section in the past and that was WAY more painful than this last surgery to remove my cysts. Don't worry too much. You'll see after everything is done that the worrying was way worse than the surgery :)
Thankyou so so much for letting me know, they did say they will try keyhole and i also had a c section and was dreading the pain would be as bad as that so you have made me feel better for that thnakyou. XXx
