ovarian cyst with fliud around it

Hi

Recently had MRI to look for ulcers in ileo pouch - I don't have a large intestine due to UC when a child - they found intestines clear but 7cm cyst on ovary which was surrounded by fluid.  sent for a ca 125 blood test and waiting to see gyn.  Is this normal behaviour for a cyst?  and can they reduce a cyst this size without surgery?

thank you

Thank you for your post - yes, a lot of pain, what a bore.  would rather not have surgery but will see what the gyn says.

its my only ovary and I'm only 37 - annoying

It could be a fluid filled or blood filled cyst that is leaking or hemorrahgic.  Some have had cysts drained and others have had them removed (for cysts that are unlikely to go away on their own).  At 7 cm it is big enough for the surgery option.  Wait to see what the gyn thinks is the best treatment.  Are you in pain?
