a little bleeding and twinges normal?

It has only been a week since the removal of both ovaries, tube and cyst. Just wondering if anyone had any bleeding after the surgery. Because of having a catheter the nurses said I would be bleeding awhile. But it is a week now and each time I wipe there is a little blood. First I thought it was rectally and because of not moving my bowels for over 4 days but I don't think I have hemorrodes, I think it would also be painful in that area. Lot of gas still so when I do move my bowels I have to hold on to my whole body and the toilet seat!! Is this normal? I am waiting from a call from my doctor still.

The pain from the bowels is one of the most difficult parts of recovering from surgery.  I think it sounds normal at this point.   I agree with JessRae about the stool softeners.  You want to make sure you are getting enough fiber and water also.  A stool softener like Colace is a good, gentle help to get things back to normal.  I am glad you have a call in to your doctor about this though.   Sometimes, infections can cause those symptoms and you would want that to be treated as soon possible.  I hope you feel better soon!

I had post surgery bleeding that lasted for a week (started as far as i know the next day after surgery) that lasted 6 days that was similar to a period. I was told by a nurse that if any bleeding lasted 10 or more days to get checked by a dr because even if its not a lot, there is concern about too much blood loss, etc.

Not moving your bowels would make for a lot of pain. I know for me, even 2 weeks post op if i have a few days of no BM's it gets painful for me. The only time Ive had to hold my own stomach/something/toilet seat was when i was still in hospital, or my first time with constipation since coming home. Are you taking any stool softeners or anything to make BM's easier? If not, it may be something to look into.

It wouldnt hurt to go and get checked out by your doctor. If you're concerned or feel something is wrong, dont hesitate to get checked out.
