Another dermoid cyst?

My 14 year old daughter had a dermoid cyst removed along with the left ovary and fallopian tube(2/10).  The cyst had engulfed the ovary hence the removal.  Her doctor at the time recommended her having an ultrasound every six months to monitor for the risk of it coming back.  So this past Friday was her first ultrasound since surgery.  The technician looked for several minutes and then asked if I was sure that it was her left ovary that was removed.  I told her yes that is what I was told and that they should have her records from the previous doctor in their system.  So she continued to look and then told me that she was going to have someone with more experience take a look and that she was sorry but that she could not tell me why.  So the next person comes in and takes a look and then tells the other tech to call the doctor and have him come and take a look.  So while we waited he came and looked and then the techs told me that my doctor would be calling me with the results.  So my question is what could be showing up on the left side if there is no ovary or fallopian tube?  Could it be another dermoid, if so what is it attached to?

probably a spinal rather than epidural would give better pain control during this surgery.  My surgery will be spinal with general anesthesia for hysterectomy
