What is this pain in my stomach and pelvis?

For the past few weeks/months I have had bad pain in my navel, lower belly, and pelvis/groin and when I went to the urgent care they said it was a UTI so they started me on an antibotidic but the pain quickly returned accompied by bloating with the pain so I went to the ER and they said I still had the original UTI and I most have been drug restistant to the first med so they started me on a new antiboditic which cleared it up but then recently I began having bad stomach pain in the navel and below plus severe back pain in my uppper and very lower back accompanied by bloating, pelvic pain and groin pain.  They did a pelvic exam and got half the results which they said looked normal as did the CBC and all other tests.  So what gives?  What is going on?  They told me to follow up with my ob-gyn as soon as possible but I don't konw why they want me to do this or what there thinking is for me needing to go to my ob-gyn right away.  Anyone please have any advice or suggestions or ideas.  Thank you.

Jennifer

It might be, though the women I know with fibroids seemed only to have trouble when they had their periods - very heavy flow and bad cramping.  Either way, your gyn should see you to find out what is causing your pain and figure out how to treat it.  I hope you get to see your gyn soon!  Chris P

Thanks Chris I will.  Do you think it could be fibroids??  My sister has severe fibroids as does my mom and I have had some as well.

The type of symptoms you are having could be caused by an ovarian cyst or ovarian cancer (thought most cysts are benign).  You should see your gyn and request a transvaginal ultrasound to rule cysts out, if you haven't had one already.  It sounds like they think your symptoms are related to gyn issues and that's why they told you to see your gyn asap. It would be best to follow through and find out what's causing your pain. Best wishes, Chris P
