What to expect after dermoid removal surgery?

Hi everyone! i had a dermoid cycst 10 cm on my right ovary. It was removed by conventional surgery on 16 feb 2010. It almost five weeks now. I have joined back my work. The thing is that since my surgery my stomach has been bloated and i don't feel anything when i touch it.Its been 5 weeks now and a little bit of feeling is coming back. But when i touch the bloated part of my stomack on the left side i feel slight pain. Is this normal recovery? i am very worried about this. Can someone share some information. My doctor said that i should expect full recovery by 6 weeks.

It is normal to feel the numbness and pain.  Your body just went through a major event and it just takes time to heal.  You are feeling the numbness because when they opened you up, they had to cut through nerves.  It will take a bit for those nerves to heal.  Make sure you are taking it easy and not lifting more than a gallon of milk.  If you walk a bit each day, that may help with the bloating too.  Hope you are feeling better soon!!

I am almost 6 weeks weeks after. I had my surgery the day before you and I m STILL off work. I get shooting pains on my left side and it is very annoying. I was dumb and didn't take it easy so that' s probably it. I think that it just takes time!!

It can take more than 6 weeks for the tenderness to diminish. It might have been 8 to 10 weeks for me.  I returned to a desk job at 6 weeks and found it very difficult.
