MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
HI,
A 4 cm size cyst is not very large and no reason for alarm. However as you are post-menopausal, the nature of the cyst needs to be ascertained. This can be done by CA 125 levels, laparoscopy, and MRI. Presence of pain suggests infection, endometriosis etc. Removal of the cyst may sometimes be necessary if medical treatment does not help. Consult your gynaecologist.
Hope this helps.
