BronchoGenic Cyst info

I have a Broncho Genic Cyst between my heart and my lung about 3mm. They found it in 2010. My Cardiologist says that it has not grown drastic since then and now I don't have to go back for 5 years, He said it was normal, but I kinda find it concerning when It always causes pain right before my cycle starts, not so concerning, when my lungs are flared up and when I am stressed.  I have not found any info on it being tied into hormonal changes, Should I be concerned with that part.

My Cardiologist is wanting to monitor it and if it changes then take action.  It does concern at times about possible infections being caused by it and it really scares my fiance.  He eventually wants kids of our own but is afraid it will cause more harm then good.  I reminded him I had my son way before I knew I had the cyst.  My next appointment with the cardiologist is in 2018 unless there is a drastic change.  I will sure keep the biopsy thing in mind just to give us peace of mind. The one that is watching this has removed at least 2 a year for the past 25+ years, in a way it made me feel better knowing he wasn't money hungry and saying lets get it out now on my first visit, he has been watching since 2010 when it was accidently found.  Thank you for your input.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Bronchogenic cyst is a solitary cyst found in young adults. The usual symptoms are the result of compression by the cyst, e.g., dyspnoea, dysphagia, cough and chest pain. Biopsy provides definitive diagnosis with less surgical risk. Although we can adopt a wait and watch policy, but carries some risk of bleeding or infection of the cyst at a later time. Hence get it evaluated from your surgeon.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
