It is quite common to have cysts though, so it could be. For me, mind unfortunately didnt go away, and i had to increase how long i was taking my birth control for in order to have the cyst go away. Simple functioning cysts are common with ovulation and usually go away when a woman has her period. so hopefully with luck the cyst goes away. Do you know how big the cyst is already etc?

She not one for taking tablets unless she really needs them and its every day this week tht she has had them. she only 13 and looks like she not worried, but deep down id say she really is. I hope this cyst is gone when we go for the next ultrascan. but its highly unlikely, frm maryann

From my experience, yes its normal. I would have a dull ache all the time but would also get the sharp pains from time to time. Hopefully when she sees the doctor in a few weeks they'll be able to come up with something to get rid of the cyst for her. As for pain relief now, ibuprofen, and heat pads if she can.
