removal of one ovary

I am scheduled to have surgery this friday, 4/22 because I have 2 dermoids on my left one. I had the baby blues for 2 weeks after both of my kids, which were the worst 2 weeks of my 37 years! I am wondering if having only 1 ovary will mess up my hormones and or set me into early menopause...please help...I am very conflicted about what to do know.

Good luck with surgery tomorrow! I'm not sure if you'll get this until after.

I had an ovary removed feb 2 this year as a result of a simple fluid filled cyst taking over my entire ovary and basically causing the wall to collapse.

The first few weeks until I got my first period ( I went back onto my birth control when i got my period) about 24 days post surgery bleeding, I was an emotional wreck... the wind blew the wrong way and I could burst into tears. I was at my wits end. The hormonal imbalance was driving me absolutely insane and until i got my period i was worried it would never end! Since being back on birth control( and to which im doing 3 months at a time again to keep cysts away from left ovary once again) it has been a lot better.

Best of luck to you.
