upper right abdominal pain/ 7yrs.

i have had upper abdominal pain for almost 7 yrs. in the liver area. i have severe back pain, left shoulder pain, dizziness, nausea, migranes. sometimes greasy food contributes to the pain but most of the time it attacks whether i eat or not. my attacks last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 days on a severe basis. i cant sleep because i am in so much pain. from jan 4, 2009 i began hemmorraging vaginally up til mid march. the bleeding began when i had a bad attack at work, i stood up and blood & clots cam pouring out. i prob lost 2-3 pts of blood from this. i had one period few days before my 16th bday and after my transfusion i never had a one again. its been almost 11 yrs and i started bleeding again. my blood pressure has been high on and off 154/96 and my glucose has been high on and off. i have a fatty liver/elevated liver enzymes only during an attack. i have had these surgeries at these ages:

age 16 (tonsils removed)
age 16 (blood transfusion 4pts. just 5 days after tonsil surgery)
age 18 (appendix removed)
age 20 (gallbladder removed)
age 26 (began hemmorraging vaginally almost 2 1/2 months)

could this be a pancrease problem/liver problem?

Sorry to hear that. Another thought that comes to mind , when you take opiods for a long time it really slows your digestive system down. It can cause it to back up and it can put pressure on the area right below your liver and it may feel like your "liver" hurts, but it is usually a dull steady kind of pain. If it is severe in nature it does not seem like that would be what it is. I hope you can find the answers you are looking for. I know how agonizing it can be, especially if you don't have insurance. If you made little to no money the government would give you a hand, but for those of us who make too much money but can't afford insurance it's tough luck, your on your own.

I understand about the hospital bills too. I had a kidney stone that did not want to come out and at the time I did not have ins. The doctors told me to wait it out at home. Needless to say, the stone did not cooperate and come out, it got stuck in my ureter and my kidney started failing from the fluids backing up into it. They finally got me into the OR to go up and get it out. They did not want to use sound waves to break it up because it cost the hospital too much money to use that machine, instead they would rather I get a $17,000.00 hospital bill that I could not pay along with a bill from the doctor for $10,0000.00. Once the dr. realized I did not have ins he reduced it to $1000.00, and the hosp reduced theirs by 40%. It was still such a huge debt.

Good luck and best wishes. I don't really know what to tell you what to do without insurance. Just make sure you don't become too anemic in the meantime. Hopefully you know what those symptoms are.

i have been to several doctors and hospitals over the last ten years. i have had almost every test done to find this pain i am having. i have seen an ob doctor once every month he just gave me pills to slow down the bleeding, sometimes it works other times it returns. i have seen several gaastroenterologists they came up empty handed, but i guess my family doctor wants me to see an endocrinologist. thats going to be kinda of hard considering i havent had insurance for over 6 years so i am kinda at a dead end. i have been in and out of hospitals for the last 10 years and i have suffered every second of them. i am just running out of answers and i cant afford to rack up hospital bills at my age.

Has your doctor ever talked about biliary colic? You can still have pain in that area when your biliary tract goes into spasm and your liver enzymes would also go up during these attacks. You can have a study done to see if this is what is causing your pain. You need to see a gastroenterologist and tell him about all of your symptoms. They would be better off helping you with this. The bleeding and pain may not have anything in common. Have you seen a gynecologist about the bleeding problem. It sounds like you really need to get in to see some doctors. With bleeding like that you really should not wait because you could become severely anemic again and need another transfusion.

Good luck and I hope you get everything sorted out.

you really need to see a dr about this. allthough ppl here may give u good advice, it doesn't change the fact that we can't diagnose you over the net and it would be irresponsible to try. go to a dr and get it sorted out properly.
good luck, let us kow how u are going
