I talked to my mom about this last night. She told me she used to work for the UW Madison hospital. I knew she worked at one of the hospitals up there when she lived in Madison, but I didn't know which.
She says she'll see what she can do to get a doctor on the phone to talk to, or to make an appointment up there when I'm not in school for a consalt. I'm going to Children's soon for the Pain Clinic consalt.
I've talked to people at the Waukesha pain clinic and I thought they were nice enough. My grandpa was treated there when he broke his hip, and the staff is nice and everything. I suppose I'm a little biased to Milwaukee, because Children's has been treating my little sister Shannon since she was 5 days old, and myself since I was 10 years old. :)
Thanks again and I'll make sure to keep you posted!

Em,
I think you've made a wise choice. Actually I have been treated at the Pain Clinic in Waukesha. I received SI Joint injections there and my experience was good.... although the injections did little to relieve my pain but that's not a surprise.
UW Madison Clinics/Hospitals has an excellent reputation and are well known as one of thee best in the nation. They truly are on the cutting edge of medical science.
We'll look forward to hearing about your experience at UW Wisconsin Children's Pain Management Clinic.
Best of Luck,
~Tuck
From what I've heard Children's has a high reputation of being very kind and successful. I was actually born at a Children's hospital and my daughter receives services at one in MN. They do seem slightly disorganized, but besides that I've heard nothing but good things about them.
Universities also offer very high quality care. I've had my DD take speech therapy at a big 10 school and it was awesome. I'd say they do a much better job than even Children's. So, it's definitely something I would look into.
Thank you :)
I'll make sure to keep this in mind. I know my mom wants me to stay close--with driving and stuff---cuz I live in Waukesha. We have a pain clinic here at the Waukesha Memorial Hospital, but Waukesha's facilities aren't my favorite. I've only been treated there a few times for emergencies, and there's nothing really wrong but... I wouldn't choose to go there if I have another choice, I guess.
I'm going to be talking to the people at Children's soon, and I think I'll do some research to do the University facilities.
Thanks again for all your help!

No, there is a Pain Clinic at Children's Hospital of Milwaukee. It's fairly new, and that's why I'm curious to find someone who's been there,
Hi Emmy,
I am sorry to hear about your pain.
I know you said you have been treated at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee. However are you talking about the Pain Clinic at the UW of Madison? I have been there but I haven't been Milwaukee.
