Hello Pi312,

I am sorry to hear about your continued back pain. We all know that CP is difficult to live with and can be disruptive.

TENS Units can be very effective for pain control in some individuals. It is a non-invasive treatment that is certainly worth trying in my opinion.

I have tried it and it was not successful in treating my pain but that doesn't mean it won't be successful for you. Others will post with their opinions and experiences. I do think it is worth trying for you.

Best of luck to you. Please let us know how it works for you and keep in touch.
Take Care,
Tuck

I have had the Tens Unit and I wore it for about a year... and it worked fine.  It didnt take all the pain away but it was like it was trying to cover it up or something like that.  I quit using it cause it was becoming less effective... and was a pain to wear especially in the summer months.  The wires were constantly getting tangled up and getting in the way of everything.  It was very annoying to wear.  I was having real bad  back pain about 3 weeks ago and I decided to put it on and it helped a little bit.  But like Tuck said it works different on other people.  So it might be a good idea to try it. Good Luck !!

I also have a TENS unit and it certainly not painful. I used it quite frequently in the beginning but haven't used it in a while.

I never really thought of it as "taking the pain away" It's more of a mind distraction tool.

The sensation it creates takes your mind temporarily away from your pain.

I would recommend giving it a try if your insurance will cover it?

I know they cost around $800 to purchase.

Good luck.

Let us know what you decide.

Take care.

Brian.
