Too much discomfort

Hello, Thanks to all who post something to my question, I am very grateful to all of you.

The matter at hand is at follows, I suffer from astigmatism, started wearing new eyeglasses 1 week ago, but for some time now, more than a week, my upper eyelids hurt, not the whole time, nor with the same intensity, but whenever I look up it hurts, sso I tocuh them and hurt. Since this has happenes I always feel I suffer from slight headache, which is confirmed once I start to shake my head a little, but it causes too much discomfort.

Anyone has any idea of what this could be, also my eyes burn a little sometimes.

I would appreciate all your help. Also, sometimes the back of my head hurts, right in the borderline with the neck.

It really sounds like you need to get this checked out.  If I was in your place, I think I'd start with the eye doctor and see what he thinks.  If he doesn't have answers for you, then I'd go to my primary care.  Again, the headaches may or may not be related.  It's certainly something you should bring up when you see someone.  There are a lot of different things that can go on with your eyes.  I worked with an eye doctor for a period of time and he saw patients for a wide variety of things.  Hopefully you'll get this straightened out soon.  When there's something going on with our eyes, it can be quite painful.  The good news is that the eye is the fastest healing part of our body!  I hope you'll post and let us know how things go and what they determine this is.  Good luck.

Thank you Melliw for your quick response. The back of my head seldomly hurts, I usually have a slight headache in the front part or just on one side of my head, normally the side where I have my eye more messed up.

The discomfort I feel in my upper eyelids, it´s in the inside part, if I look up it hurts and when I close my eyes and touch my upper eyelid it hurts as well.

I think you need to call your eye doctor.  Are you having any redness or discharge from your eyes?  It's possible you have some type of infection.  Also could be you're adjusting to your new eye glasses prescription.

The back of the head/neck pain could be unrelated and you may want to talk to your primary care doctor.  The burning could be from the new prescription or could be from an infection or simply dry or irritated eyes.  My eyes burn and I think it's mostly from age and possibly a side effect of some of my medications.  (I've found my medications make my mouth very dry and figure my eyes burning is from dry eyes.  I use OTC natural tears, which help momentarily but don't stop it for good.)
