Bad Pains, Any Suggestions?

I was just diagnosed with PCOS a few days ago and I haven't met with the doctor yet. We meet next week.

The pains are killing me. It's like something is eatting it's way out of me from the inside and it hurts sooooo bad. I've also been throwing up, but not in the "normal" way, I guess. My stomach doesn't empty itself all at once. It's little bits at a time, and this lasts all day, until eventually i'm dry heaving. I get really nauseous when I do eat.

At first, I thought it was gas or stomach cramps. But Gas-X, anti-diarrehtics, and anti-spasmotics aren't helping. A heating pad helped a little bit, but that's because I've been stuck in bed the past two days and left out of school. I can't afford to miss anymore but I don't know what to get rid of the pain.

Any suggestions? Could asprin or ibuprofin work until I meet with my doc?

Thanks to both of you :) I will certainly try the pain killers. My doctor recommended Mydol because it helps with some of the "cramping" feeling, and I've found that helps but only a little. I'm picking up ibuprofin after school for sure!

I haven't tried the warm bath yet, but I'm certainly willing. That might be better than wearing out another heating pad...

Thanks again for your help!

You could see if metformin would benefit you along with the birth control pills. I have it too and it's not fun but something you will never get rid of. Heating pads are good for the pain and probably something like Motrin or ibuprofen. Make a list of questions to ask your doctor. If you haven't already join the locks forum. Good luck to you and I hope you get the pain relief you need.

Hi there, I'm so sorry you have been diagnosed with PCOS. It's horrible I have the same thing I'm 21 and only found out about it a year ago. For me it is very painful at times that I have to curl up into a ball and lay in bed :( and I vomit at least 1-2 times a day. Mostly after I eat I have tried pills to help with the nausea but nothing works. But what has helped somewhat for me is to not drink any soft drink after a meal. With the pain my doctor says to just have normal pain killers and/or have a warm bath. Nothing really helps iv told the doctor this and he says the same thing, panadol. The doctor also said that birth control pills can help with the PCOS, they help regular late the period and put more estrogen back into your body.

Goodluck :)
