placenta abruption

Has anyone had any personal experience with placenta abruption. I'm only in the first trimester and have been told to get a second opinion (obviously) bc the first doc said there was nothing I could do to prevent if I miscarried.

Anyone who has dealt with this let me know how it went. Its so uncommon.
