I feel incredibly blessed because I honestly thought it wouldn't happen. Thank you!!! Just be aware of the side effects listed and not!!! I was informed of a few with the iud like it could get imbedded, etc but nothing said anything like what I went through, other than searching on my own for women who had the same kind of experiences. There a TONS!!! I was extremely shocked to know there were so many because I thought I was just the "lucky"one but I wasn't. Some people have ZERO issue but I'm just not one of them and want everyone to know that it could happen to them because I went through hell and I don't want anyone to experience that!!!! So scary!!!!! I will stick to condoms and I guess, chance since they break. Lol! If I'm blessed with more, they were meant to be! If not, I'm ok with this one being my last because it's truly a miracle to me that it's even happening again!!!! It's something I so badly wanted again and I'm so grateful it's actually happening!!!!

There are definite dark sides to birth control you should be aware of!!! After my son, I went on  seasonique. The four periods a year is what sealed the deal. I got pregnant on it, not missing pill, a yearlater. Had my daughter, got sick during her ppregnancy and gained zero weight. After, went on depo and gained 70lbs with the first shot!! Stayed on it for a while and got tired of the w weight gain and constant bleeding. Decided to do Mirena iud and it literally almost killed me!!!! It released almost all of the 5 years of hormones at once. Had it removed after a month and a half of hell. I was told after yet another miscarriage last December that it screwed my system so badly, I probably couldn't have anymore kids. That was three years later and after being on nothing to get my body back. I was heartbroken!!! Gave up the idea of kiddos and then in July, I tested positive!!! I'm now almost halfway done and couldn't be more excited/nervous/scared!!!! Just be aware that not all people can do birth control and I'm one of them who lived through that with a positive outcome. I will not be risking it this time at all!!!!

Nuvaring all the way! I feel like unless your partners penis is a hook, it won't come out. I was on it for 5 years. And once I took it out/stopped using it, it took us two weeks to get pregnant! Also, you have a two hour window where it can be out and not cause harm.

I used nuva ring before and works great. Its fine if it falls out during sex. What the ring does is release hormones in your body. I cant remember the exact time limit you can have it out before you may have lack of protection. I use to take mine out during sex just in case it fell out I wouldnt lose it

I had the mirena iud inserted six weeks after my son was born, it worked well for me - no cramping after the first day or two, no periods, and it didn't affect my milk supply (I nursed him for two full years before he self-weaned) but after BabyTwo arrives my husband is getting a vasectomy. After our difficult fertility journey we will be very happy with two little ones, and keeping my organs intact will minimize hormonal imbalances while leaving me the opportunity to consider surrogacy in the future.
If you're concerned about breastfeeding make sure that you have contact information for a lactation consultant local to you, as well as breastfeeding classes and support groups - La Leche League being the most common but many birthing centers and hospitals also offer them. People often say "oh it comes natural you'll know what to do" but it isn't always the case. A good productive latch is a learning process for mothers and babies - it's perfectly normal if it doesn't work perfectly right away, the most important thing I teach my patients before discharge is to not give up and to access the resources that are available in your community to make sure your breastfeeding experience is a positive one.

Have you looked into NFP, Natural Family Planning? It is more effective, when used properly just as any planning method, than contraception. It does not harm your body and is free! You and your family deserve the best- make sure you do thorough research into ALL of your options.

I don't know what is best because I just stay away from all of it. I just don't want to deal with all of the side effects & possible infertility. We are extremely careful though & waited until our daughter was one before I got pregnant again. However, it is extremely easy to get pregnant again within the first year after you've had a baby. No birth control is 100% and you always have a chance of being in that 1% who get pregnant on birth control. Using condoms also will be an extra defense if you seriously don't want to get pregnant again.

I was on the shot before.. I like it cuz it's once every three months BUT I hate the weight gain.. this time around we haven't decided.. Maybe just the shot again cuz condoms aren't very reliable..

Depends on how well you remember to take pills. I've always used the pill until 10 days ago, I got my tubes tied after I had my son. I've heard the nuvaring can come out during sex so not sure I trust that. The shot works for some people but I've heard a lot of negative stories on that. Same with the marena. It really depends on you. I would discuss it with your dr at one of your visits

It depends on a couple of things such as if you plan on breastfeeding and if you've had certain complications in pregnancy. Your dr will probably talk to you about this closer to yout due date and make some recommendations. Mine is suggesting the mirena iud based on my situation but I haven't heard anything good about it so still trying to decide.
