42 and Pregnant???

I am 42 years old and got pregnant for the first time at age 36 but lost the baby early at 4wks due to a tubal pregnancy. Doctor had to remove my tube and I was told that the other one is blocked. IVF was recommended at age 39.

I have been experiencing very sore breasts...and I mean VERY for the past 3 weeks. My period is due tomorrow. I was 4 days late on my last period (which started on Nov 1st and ended on Nov 7, 2012) and it was not as heavy as usual, although not considered light either. I had sex twice while on my last period.

My mentrual cycle runs every 21 days..might be early/late by a day or two at times. Usual flow..Heavy on day 1-2 then lighter as it ends.

Other symptoms: I think that I've been urinating more than normal (4 times in the last 4 hours) but can't tell if that's just my imagination or due to drinking caffeine (coffee/with sweetener). Headaches daily. Fatigue.

I plan on testing in the morning with a HPT.

I am in fairly good health. Height 5'8"/Weight @125-130

Any thoughts on my condition?

You're absolutely right...physically, I'm going through some changes....I'm guessing it's like you said, menopause related....eek! I may have to join the menopause group to get some support...it feels like the doors are closing and I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet..especially, without having had any children.

Sorry :-(
Unfortunately our cycles tend to change as we approach menopause.
Good luck for next cycle!!

I would test when AF is due or a day late.  I've never had any pregnancy symptoms before AF was late....they usually hit me around week 5.  Good luck and hope you get a positive!!

Thanks, McKee513.

I guess I will see what happens tomorrow...either AF will appear or I will be testing at home. :)

Hello and thank you for responding to my post! :) I read your profile and I must say that it was bitter-sweet. You've been through so much over the years. I am praying that you will carry this time!! :)

I'm truly in suspense, as I am waiting for testing at home or AF tomorrow. I've also noticed mood swings, frequent urination and fatigue. Other than extremely sore breasts, I've recently noticed fatigue/headaches/mood swings/frequent urination. Have you ever had any of these symptoms in any of your early/present pregnancies?

I am so proud of you for adopting so many children.especially ones with special needs..you all are truly special gifts to one another! :)

Let's keep in touch! :)

Amy

You can test to find out for sure but 42 is not unusual at all!  I would wait until period is a week late not just a day buy with the new tests you can find out before a missed period. And blood work from your Dr is always right. So maybe give a call?
