Thanks..

Seen my midwife :) i love her so much i have had 2 cases of false labour in last 4 weeks, last time was last tue and been having a constant pain in lower admon and back ever since :( but knowing i was seeing midwife today i took parcotomal as pain relief they gave me at beginning affect blood pressure n paracotmol was the only thing that didnt effect it.
When seeing her this afternoon blood pressure was a little high but nothing major but was sent to my local featal assesment unit and had a great midwife and doctor and they were able to say i have got SPD and gave me something that wont affect my blood pressure as they made me take one and wait a hour or so and monitored me .. if any other problems i have to go back..

im now woundering when i go bk to see midwife nxt week will they suggest inducing as i see alot ppl say they then to induce with SPD!!

im jus scared of havin a baby all together my other half is amazing her trys to make me laugh and joke about and help me relax .. ive been doin my reserch in exercises etc i can do etc to help with the nxt few weeks ...
i am 36 weeks and i wont want to be induced until at least 38 weeks i would feel confortable doin it then when i no im over the full term mark..( i no ultra sunds can be wrung but the peace of mind that 38 is safer than nw or nxt week ) i would be alot more confortable doin it.

My partner and i have been looking up different position for birth etc to minimizn complations etc with SPD on midwifes request .. she gave me alot info but she said im better on somewere like this to ask ppl their experiences is better than readinga leaflet ..

He has asked me - "would they ask to induce you?"
"Should we ask to get you induced ?"
"Would it be a good idea?"  etc .....

It's normal to be a bit scared.  I was too.  I mean, its a pretty big deal.

I honestly can't say whether they would induce you due to your high blood pressure.  I can tell you that is one of the reasons they sometimes might want to, but it depends on how high, your health and other factors.

It is always your right to refuse medical procedures and treatment.  However, if you are working with a Dr. you trust, then I would probably go along with their suggestions.  They want what is best for you and your baby.  If you don't trust your Dr., then I would suggest seeking a second opinion.  In my personal experience, the main reasons for induction would be because your or the babies health is somehow at risk.

Please feel free to ask questions here as well.  But I would never ever suggest going against medical advice.  Try not to worry too much.  YOur baby is well in the safety zone for birth, and will be fine.

Just to give you an example, a friend of mine had her daughter by c section several weeks ago.  They took the baby at 29 weeks due to severe pre eclampsia.  It was pretty serious.  Well, that little girl is doing just fine.  She is still in NICU and probably will be for another month, but she is getting stronger every day.  And mom is now much better too.  And that was 29 weeks.

Another friend of mine (who is also a member here) had her son at 36 weeks also due to blood pressure issues.  They spent a week in the hosptial, but baby did not have to be in NICU.  He is perfect.  He is 6 months old now and has been thriving since day 1.  Happy and healthy little guy.

So try not to worry.  They will only induce you if they feel they need to.

I have a midwife appoitnment today and plan to ask her alot of question, i generally have found babies born at 36wks plus r okay but wanting to no if anyone has any stories they would like to share about their experience as they say labour can be a lot worse early or of inducted early it can be worst...

i no they wont induce ppl unless deffo needed...
has go me thinking

"i had high blood pressure before i got pregnant and it has only been high one or twice throughout the las 36 weeks? would they consider inducing me? as i dunno if i would be confy being induced ? "
and Can i REFUSE?

I know i say all the time i hate this and i want it over with but i dunno if i reallly do i have my mind set on it just happening i think i myt go a bit mad thinking about being induced and it being planned!!

Yes ive alot questions but im a first time mom and a litte scared now that it is so close :( xo

Well, there are lots of women here who have had babies at that stage.  I'm not certain what kind of info your looking for?  Typically babies born then do just fine.  There will typically be a short NICU or hospital stay if born under 37 weeks, often with issues such as jaundice, or sometimes underdeveloped lungs.   Certainly nothing life threatening due to the early birth.  37 to 38 weeks is considered full term and usually baby will go home right away with no issues.  Many c sections are performed at 37, 38 weeks if there is a reason mom should not be allowed to go into labor naturally.

If is never a good idea to try to bring on labor unless your Dr. wants to do an induction.  Reasons for early induction can include pre eclampsia, placental failure just to name a few.  But barring that, it is usually considered best if baby comes when they are ready.

There are so many methods to attempt to induce labor on your own, but most medical professionals discount them as being ineffective.  Personally, if it were me, I would only work on Dr. recommendation.  If your Dr. thinks baby should be born now, they will do a medical induction.

Hope that helps....if you have any specific questions, please let me know.  Congrats on your impending birth.
