I echo the other ladies in saying I too am sorry to hear about your loss.  I am 37 and although I have three healthy teen boys from a previous marriage, my second husband , who is 32, has no children of his own.  He and his parents were told when he was very young that due to a medical problems he had at birth that it would be impossible for him to ever father children.  Having a child of his own has always been a longing for him.  It was a fact of life that we had come to accept.  Imagine our surprise when the day after my youngest sons 16 birthday, I tested positive.  It didn't last long. The next day I started spotting and miscarried at 7 weeks.  Now that we knew it was possible, we wanted to try again right away, so as soon as the doc gave the go ahead, I started charting my temps and using opks.  For the first two months we were unsuccessful.  The third month I heard about using instead soft cups as a fertility aid.  Basically instead of using it to catch menstral flow, you use the soft cup after BD to help hold the swimmies where they need to be.  Since low count was suspected, we tried it and BINGO. BFP that month.  I am now 8 weeks and a few days and all seems to be going well.  It can be done.  Best wishes to you.

Hi, I too am sorry for you loss.

I just wanted to give you a little hope about the late 30'somethings getting preg naturally.
I was trying for my first at 39 and got preg naturally using pre-seed (I think that did the trick - mucous issues) and did opk stick on successful month.  I have a friend who got preg naturally first at age 37 and second at age 39. Good Luck, J

Track your ovulation, I like fertility friend.com.  I was also drinking fertility tea and used pre-seed before, during and after ovulation.  In in just 1 month we were pregnant.  Good luck.

I'm sorry for your loss and understand your frustration.  I was 37 (almost 38) when I started trying to conceive.  I too conceived fairly quickly and miscarried. I seemed to get pregnant fairly easily naturally, but miscarried a total of 5 times.  I was ready to give up, not believing it could ever happen.  I am now 40 and 25 weeks pregnant with a healthy boy due in January.   I worked with my OB but never did see an RE.  If you are not happy with your Dr., don't hesitate to change or to go straight to a specialist.  It's not too early.  It's also not to late for you to become a mom.  Sometimes the road is difficult, but many of us here have been where you are and gone on to have healthy successful pregnancies, you can too.  I wish you well.  Take good care.

I agree that it's not too early to start fertility treatments.  Unfortunately m/c is common, esp in women over 35 (I think after 40 it's around 50%).  As for success stories, I'm 41 and it took 4 IUIs (with medications + acupuncture) for our first pg which ended in a m/c and then another 5 IUIs (with medications + acupuncture) for our second pg.  I am now over 22 weeks pregnant and all is going really well.  Don't give up as there is hope!

Best of luck to you I know how you feel I have a difficult time getting and staying pg too.  I see a fertility doctor and have since I was 30 I am now 36.  It is not to early to see a specialist al all!
