10 wk old w/ cross eyes

Anyone else experience this w/ their newborns (sheesh...is 10 weeks old even still a newborn??? Man time is going fast). Our ped said this shoudl correct by 4 months, but bad vision runs in our family (I've had 3 cornea transplants) so I'm curious as to anyone else's experiences with this. Thanks!

Christina (and little Christopher)

PS...he was born at 6lbs 4oz, 19 inches; at 9 weeks he was 11.11lbs and 23 inches!! Go my little chubbers...go!!!

Yes I think it is very normal.  Babies will occassionally go cross-eyed and seem to have lazy eyes while they are young.  Their eye muscles and focus are still developing.  My dh is 6 months now and she never does it anymore.  It should correct itself maybe by 3 or 4 months.  But if you notice it is still happening mention it to your doctor...strabismus can be corrected in infants and young kids by wearing glasses that strengthen the weak eye (worked great for my nephew!).
